After a 3-year hiatus, the much anticipated 2022 CMI Trophy golf competition teed off on October 28, 2022 with gusto.

The tournament attracted over 180 customers and Mercedes-Benz owners from every Capital Motor outlet across the island – making it one of the largest CMI Trophy events in recent years.

Hosted at the prestigious Tashee Golf & Country Club in Taoyuan, the event teed off with an opening ceremony attended by the top management and executives of Capital Motors Inc.

The setting of the Country Club provided a great backdrop for the Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 on display and attracted a great deal of attention.

Many of the players arrived early in the morning to warm up – and to state their intent on winning the top prize.

After a highly competitive morning, participants and guests were treated to a special luncheon with live performances and an award ceremony.

Managing Director of CMI Group, Mr. S. J. Yong, thanked the players for their support and their energetic participation. Top executives from CMI also raised their glasses to everyone.

The awards ceremony was the highlight of the luncheon, and a host of interesting awards were announced much to the delight of everyone.

A VIP from the KaoPing Branch hit a hole-in-one at the 7th hole, a first in the history of the CMI Trophy, and brought home an A-Class Sedan sponsored by CMI.

The KaoPing Branch took home the Group Champion award and members of the team raced onto the stage to receive their championship trophy, drawing the event to a successful end.

A great day for golf, a great day for camaraderie, and a great way to forge ties – both old and new.

In Tainan City, it can certainly be felt at T.S. Mall, a large modern and upmarket shopping mall.

CMI (Capital Motors, Inc) wanted to bring the magic of Mercedes-Benz to a wider group of audience and they did just that by conceptualizing and building an elaborate and futuristic Pop-up concept store within the mall.

With informative digital media presentations, stunning 3D backdrops and brilliant lighting, the “showroom” provides a sneak preview into the Mercedes-Benz showroom experience. There are also relaxing corners and discussion areas … and barista served coffee.

Of course, the real stars of the experience are on display with the new E-Class being the main highlight. Mercedes-Benz Collection items and accessories are also available for purchase and CMI professionals are on hand in the store to welcome curious walk-ins and to offer expertise and assistance.

The concept store was opened on Christmas Day, 2020 and although it will remain open for just one year, we have no doubt the impression will last a long time after.

CMI Group has been active in charity work in Taiwan Region for years. Last year, it brought music to the rural areas of Nantou County, Taiwan Region’s second largest county with 41 mountains.

In a charity event held at CMI Taichung Showroom, Mr. S. J. Yong, Managing Director of CMI Group, presented a cheque for NT $2 million to the Chin-Ai String Orchestra.

Chin-Ai village is situated in a remote mountain area and the orchestra comprises talented indigenous children.

In a speech, Mr. Yong said: “CMI Group is devoted to foster art education in remote areas. We hope that these children can continue their passion for music, to fly high and shine internationally one day.”
